Gym Myths: Lactic Acid Build Up

I’m sure you all remember being instructed to walk after doing the pacer test or running the mile in school. The idea that the body is an environment to produce lactic acid is outdated and ultimately untrue. It’s the production of hydrogen during glycolysis that causes soreness. A point of confusion could be that the body does build lactate, but lactate and lactic acid are not one and the same!
